In the 70`s came the personal computers, than in 1993 the internet became accessible to anyone who owned a computer. Some say the next big thing will come in 2015. What do you think this will be?

Your timeline is a bit wrong, and misses some major breakthroughs that have gone before, such as the IBM S/360 mainframe architecture in the 60's, Relational databases in the 70's, PC's in the 80's, mobile computing, fourth generation programming languages and the internet in the 90's, and the dot.com boom and bust of the early 2000's.

The trend is definitely towards smaller computers cooperating to perform massively parallel operations, processing the ever increasing volumes of data being produced in real time.
