the rumor has it that all computers running windows OS without windows genuine advantage a.k.a windows genuine checker will cease to operate beginning this fall. the aim is to phase out all illegal copies of windows OS software. now i wonder what will happen to millions of computers in the third world countries, especially africa where most of the old computers they use, they are installed with pirated versions of the windows OS.

I do not think your computer will stop operating at the beginning of this fall just because it hasn't been validated through Microsoft.... But I could be wrong, because I know they have this nifty software that locks on to your physical memory's address but I don't really know its purpose at the moment...
But if what you're saying is true, then I guess this will only apply to computers with XP or higher. Which leaves out the ther OS's to continue to operate...
Bottom line, I think it's bogus.
