If two people have equally fast computers, is there a way to race them to see which might be slightl

For example, think of two guys who drag race tricked out cars. They might have the exact same thing under the hood, but one always ends up winning the race... if even by an inch. So using this metaphor, how can one accomplish the same thing when "racing" computers?

It's called benchmarking. It's usually used to test system speeds by computer review writers. It's pretty much a program that makes the computer calculate pi or render a file or some other CPU-extensive task (usually calculating) and time how long it takes. You could run such a program on two computers, and see which one finishes first... if even by the temporal equivalent of an inch.

Get a thing called "3D Mark". It will clock your computer speed in graphics and processing.
Check out PC Pitstop(www.pcpitstop.com)

Here you can run a test on your computer that goes over everything. The report will give you suggestions to improve your performance and it will also compare your computer to others. Save those results and compare them to whatever other computers you test. If you create an account I believe it stores your results, but you can run the test without one.
Wow, awesome question. You must decide on a search, synchronize the time (probably by phone) and see who gets there first.
