How do you set up two computers to share files between each one?

I already have internet connection sharing set up between both computers. After it is set up, how do I view files from my desktop while I am on my laptop?

Assuming these are Windows computers, in addition to internet connection sharing, you have to specifically share the directory (folder) or drive that you want visible to the other computer. You can do this by bringing up Windows Explorer, right-clicking on the directory or drive in question and selecting "Sharing and Security". Here you can define the properties of how you would like the data shared (ie. full access, read only, password controlled, ect).

You need to set up the file and print sharing on your desktop.

1) On the desktop, in Network properties, add the File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks service (on your local area connection).

2) Once installed, right-click on the folder(s) you want to share.

3) Choose Sharing

4) Give the share a name

5) On the laptop, do a start --%26gt; run --%26gt; \\%26lt;desktop%26gt;\%26lt;sharename%26gt; (or you can map to it)

Happy Sharing!
You must have a router in order to share files between each computer. Both you laptop must connect to the router. It depends if you router can share file. Also disable all your firewall.Heres the website to guide you.
