Starting a side job, fixing computers?

I want to start a side job fixing computers. I already have a website setup for it. I will provide services remotely via internet, onsite, and carry-in. What do I need to do now to make it legal? Please give me step-by-step instruction. Where do I go to get a license?

Thank you,

WHEN you become a big success (note I did not say IF :) )and you might have many people coming to and from your home in certain areas you MIGHT have a zoning problem with the business in the home.

Make sure you have both liability insurance, people will be coming to your home, and errors and ommissions insurance for when you make a mistake with someone's system and they decide to sue you.

But go ahead and get the business license through your state. It is painless and you will then be entitled to a few benefits of having the license to purchase items for resale.

Never know who you will tick off along the way and they want to "cause you trouble".

Sure you will start off small and think these things are not necessary but you will NEVER become big enough to move out to a store front and hire others IF just one miserable mistakes wipes out your busienss to pay off.

Good luck and go get 'em!
