How do i share files between my two computers using my wireless home network?

It's annoying to find my flash drive, copy the files, and to paste them on my other computer. How do i share fiels between my 2 computers through my wireless network?

How do i share files between my two computers using my wireless home network?internet

Sharing resources is configured from the computer that contains the files and folders you want to share. You can share an entire drive so that all the files and folders on that drive become available to the other computers, or you can share just specific folders.

To share a file, folder or drive using Windows XP:

1. Enable file sharing on your computer if you haven't already done so by running the Network Setup Wizard. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, click Network Setup Wizard. You only need to do this once on your computer.

Note: You must have administrative privileges on your computer to share files and folders in Windows XP.

2. Open My Computer.

3. Browse to the folder that contains the files that you want to make available to other computers, and then select it.

4. On the File menu, click Sharing and Security.

5. Click Share this Folder on the Network tab. By default, the folder is made available to all of the other computers on your network, and everyone has read-only access. To give everyone read-write access, select Allow Network Users to Change My Files.

Next advancement in technology with computers ?

What do you feel will be the next ' advancement ' in technology with computers and the internet ? Personally, I don't much care for certain technology...yet am also very aware that it is very much a part of our communicating world.

So...wondering what next ' advancement ' might be.

Whatever suits you. Nothing will work unless it is useful - look at mobile phones that can browse the web, or file hosting services. But it will be something ingenious, probably something that can combine all what the web provides in one easy source,

:-) I have it in my head and I am looking for the right people to make it happen... it will be amazing!
I use computer since it was a 16 MHz CPU, and now using 2.4 GHz. That was different thing.

The same thing goes when I typing document , not changed, stuck with 15 minutes for 1 page.

I think it will be an in-dash computer for the automobile, which will include all the features of your home computer, as well as a GPS, and digital video recording using several on board cameras. On my future car I want the windows to be instantly tinted to the shade of my choice at the touch of a button.
Internet 2.0

not so much as a 'feeling' or a guess, but its a fact.

Soon they will be setting asside bandwith for another 'internet' that will be faster and more expensive. Also many protocalls will be reformated and rewritten, while new protocalls will be created. It is said to be alot safer, and on the other side of the coin, alot more privacy restricting.

so, that is going to be the next advancement in the internet...

Will cars ever have real computers in them, like to surf the net or store data?

I know some cars already have certain types of 'computers' like the maps and stuff like that (sorry, I know the name, but I'm braindead at the moment lol), but sometimes I wish I had a screen that would come up and I could surf the net or play a video game (only while I'm parked, of course).

Also, how about voice? Wouldn't it be cool to have a car that talked to you? Not sure what applications this would be good for, just sounds cool. Any ideas?

Cops have computers in their cars. You could put a laptop in your car. They can put a computer in a car, but I'm not sure why they would.
Yes to all.
Yes there will be one they are now trying to once one pimp my ride thay had one and they played video games on there.
I think we are rapidly moving to that day - not sure why no manufacturer has put them in yet. Maybe worry over accidents caused by drivers using them, but that could happen with the navigation system also.
they already do goto car shows and see it they are windows based pc for cars
They're called "carputers" and they do exist.
Of course but, I cannot reveal my secret knoledge of them or I will be incarcerated and/or killed
ha ha something i can answer, the updated 5 and possibly the X5 series which is currently being tested in cold weather has actually got very sophiticated computer software in it but thats mostly for tcs and so on but i've seem some of the 535s with weird laptop style clip ons (like where it is common to find a ipod attachment)and my boss is always fiddling around with it, so im guessin its not fully built to spec yet but if it gets beyond a concept it should be made available pretty soon
BMV has a new SUV coming out with a full computer built into the back.
This would be 10 times as bad as people driving with cell phones. Cop cars all ready have them. But no cop uses it unless stoped or he or she has a partner, to operate it.
You can always put a strong laptop in your car u can also have voice assistance... You can do anything you want today but i think its gonna take time before we see a really computerized car....
yes sure u can hook up one o ur own to the battery of about 24 volts

Why haven't they made computers with touch screens?

You get phones that have touch screens. So why don't they make computers like that? Have they even thought of it? So you use your finger as a mouse. I'd love that.

Why haven't they made computers with touch screens?live update

They have, just not practicle to buy one

Microsoft is developing a table top computer that is completly touch screen

Why haven't they made computers with touch screens?norten

update ur gk.....they are available....
They did and only lasted a few years. People simply do not like them and I don't blame them. Raising your hands up to touch the screen, after a few hours of that your arms will feel like lead.

People simply like the mouse and keyboard.

Touch screens are good for PDA's, ATM's, etc.

Peace

Jim

.
It is on the way. The pc as we know it will be long gone. I believe mid next year microsoft is launching the touch screen.
many long time business partners/industries specializing mouses will be affected so they keep the transition really slow
we make really expensive servers ( about a million dollars )

and i already use a touch screen PC to test some of the servers we build , but its not the screen i touch , its a pad where the mouse would be

Does dsl allow all the computers in my network to have 1.5 mbps through a router?

A pesky telemarketer wanted me to switch over so i asked " Will i have 1.5mbps on each of my computers in my network?" they replied "yes" but im skeptical of this. Is it true though

Does dsl allow all the computers in my network to have 1.5 mbps through a router?liveupdate

First of all you will not have 1.5mbps with DSL, but technically the answer is yes...if only one is used at a time. Because the router is managed, each computer that is being utilized will divide the speed.

Actully yes you can my dad owns a buissness and he has 8 computers using dsl at the same speed so yes you can.
If that's not a loaded question, of course they will say yes. Read the Terms %26 Conditions on their website.

Where is the gold in computers located?

my friend is scrapping computers and wanted to know where the gold is located.

Where is the gold in computers located?malware

Where is the gold in computers located?norton 360

Gold is a very good conductor of electricity and it does not oxidize or corrode (at least not very easily). In computers, it is often used in electrical contacts plated as a very thin layer on the pins and sockets, sometimes as a solder alloy (Au-Sn), sometimes (in old technology) used as very tiny wires inside the chip package connecting the actual Si chip to the pins that connect to the rest of the computer. Unfortunately, there is not much gold in an old computer and what is there is difficult to separate from all the other metals that are used. It is very interesting to tear things apart to see what they look like.
theres gold in computers? O.o wow....also why is this in the geography section...

How do I connect to Windows XP home computers together via USB?

I have a Toshiba M 105 laptop, and an Emachine home computer with Windows XP home on both. Both have available USB ports, and I have a doublesided usb cord, so they can be linked together. How do I make it so I can link the 2 together? I need to transfer from my laptop to my pc. I have already tried LapLink 11.5 installed on both computers, and no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated.

There is a usb cable available to do just that. But it is painfully slow. You can check it out at ...

You would be better advised to set up a small network between your computers. The data will transfer before your grand children become married adults with children.

I am not sure, but you can try with RJ45 Connection
enable local area network and allow file sharing in that network and also try to detect each other by making a workgroup so that one of your computers can join the workgroup then file share begins.. hope it helps

its the only thing i know ;)
get a mac and share your entire hard disk wirelessly with other users
Buy this cable. Otherwise, you will have to do an null RJ45 cable or create a ad hoc and share wirelessly.
Buy a Manuel that teaches about computers....
I have never heard about connecting two comuter with USB port. U can make a LAN connection Share ur data over it. U need a switch, Cat5 cable, RJ-45 connector(if wired). If u have that much component u can make a LAN %26 access ur data from another comp. This is easiest method to setup lan.

U can use the link to setup lan.

Enjoy the Knowledge!

i never used this before but i know of ppl who have asked for it when i worked at the local RS store, my other suggestion is to setup a network (hub + cables) and just transfer it that way.
um.. get an ethernet cable and use LAN instead...
