Win XP: Why do I need full admin rights to connect two computers with usb-link?

Please help.

I have two computers: on both of them I can read and write files. I need to transfer data from one to the other. This works all very well with a usb stick... But I don't like having to plug and unplug these sticks. Can I have a direct usb connection without full admin rights? I've tried one but I need to install drivers ... but I need admin rights to do this.

Is it possible to connect the two computers with a usb-connection? Why can a read/write/ transfer data between the computers with a usb stick but not directly?

Thanks!

contact your IT dept, they should be able to help you out, the reason why you can use your USB drive is cuz your are saving to that stick, you are probably in violation of your company's user agreement by using that USB drive anyway

Just disable all that "admin rights" crap. That's what I did.
It takes administrative rights to add any programs to XP including drivers to add new hardware. The basic philosophy is that if you have a limited account you can use the computer, but can't change its configuration. You are attempting to change the configuration, but using a flash drive doesn't change a thing.
Get pen drive and the transfer the data!!

Very expensive to connect two computers!!
