I have 2 computers and want to connect both to a broadband connection at the same time, Can I connect them to the same phone line or would the signals weaken. I have broadband adsl 2. also 2 modems
Can 2 modems for 2 different computers be connected to the one phone line with a double adapter (broadband)?norton 2008
No, you can not connect two modems to the same phone line.
To share the same phone line, you will need to set up a network. Each computer will need a network card installed, either wired or wireless.
You will need to purchase a router, either wired or wireless. If you choose wired, then you will also need two CAT cables.
In the end, the router will connect to the DSL modem you have, which in turn connects to the phone line.
Depending upon what you are doing, both computers can run on the same phone line without any noticable drop in connection speed. However, if one computer is downloading large files, like video's, it may slow down the other computers connection speed.

I am not a computer expert but am sure two modems at once would not work.
You can set up a home network pretty easy though, two ways one physicaly using patch leads as long as you have network card in both computers. These cards are cheap as chips , saw two cards in my local b%26Q shop for 拢5 today .a cross wired patch lead and you can run them both at the same time.
