Is my entire network vulnerable if one of the computers does not have a firewall?i?

if one of the computers does not have a firewall, are the other computers vulnerable to attacks even if they each have (software) firewalls? Thanks.

Unless you've got a firewall on your router -- yes.

In order for the unprotected computer to work on your network, the other computers already "trust" it. Since it's open to attack, it can get hacked, then from there the others can since they don't consider that computer a threat.

Get a decent firewalled router, and then you won't have to worry about each computer individually.

if your running multiple computers your probably running a router which has a firewall to hide all your systems
No, that computer has to go through a router / switch to get out and that router or switch has a firewall
not necessarily, it depends on the role of this computer, it also depends on the type of firewall you are using. hardware-based firewalls are better.

anyway, the general idea is that your network is as secured as its weakest point!!!!!!!!
Best way to avoid these kind of problems is to install the firewall on the main server machine. Also use a proxy server to minimize such kind of problems.

Though these solutions are not full proof, but sure they tend to help lot.

Let know if this helps
