How do you totally erase a computers hard drive?

i need help鈥?how do I erase everything on a computers hard drive? i want it to look like it crashed... any ideas on how to do that? Oh and also how to load everything on to a memory stick?

u cannot load EVERYTHING onto a memory stick..as a memory stick is not big enough

also if u want to make it so you hard drive has nothing on it..and you want to loose your date

.just go deleteing everything in your hard drive from my copmuter...

im afraid to tell you that and installed os with all its components would not fit on a memory stick, and i dont think there is a way to acheive what you want to do, if you really wanted it too look broken just open up the case and unhook some wires and things.

Not sure why you are doing this though

You could probably go into the hidden windows folder and move some important stuff out of there onto a pen drive and just put it back later. I dont recomend it, but see no reason why it wouldnt work
Depending on how much pictures / music you have on the computer, a memory stick or usb thumb drive won't be large enough to hold everything.
