If you have dsl with cable what do you need to hook to computers to the same internet?

I want to hook to computers to the same internet. I have dsl for my computer through comcast cable what do I need in order to hook up two computers together. Is it called a hub ? I'm trying to find one on ebay. What do I look for what is the system called ? Can you help me ? I'm totally computer illterate.

typically most dsl/cable modems act as routers as well, so you'd probably be ok buying a hub. It's real simple, just run a cable into the "uplink" port on the hub and then from any other port to your NIC card (port) on the computer.

A *router* (not a hub).
It is called a Router. Basically there are two type of Router:-

1. USB Router hooked up to the DSL. From the Router; which have between 4 to 6 USB points, you can hook up by RJ45 Canble to yr pc/lap top.

2. Wifi Router. If your PC/Lap top have wireless capability, i would suggest you to buy a wifi router.Then you can use yr pc/lap top to connect to the internet wirelessly. Better brands is Linksys and general ones are like D Link, Belkin %26 Prolink.

3. Get your wifi dealer to set up yr wifi router and set the WPA security password too.

Router, and DSL is Digital Subscriber Line... Comcast Does BroadBand Cable, not the same but do the same.

Go with a router. Buffalo, Netgear or Linksys are the best right now.
