As for my knowledge IP address is 4 bytes. So 255*255*255*255 computers can be connected. If thats the case, what will happen when all the IP address is taken up?
What is the maximum number of Computers that can be connected to Internet?antivirus download
NB There are both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses available on the internet
By default 2^128 devices (IPv6) but with the addition of NAT there can be approx 65535 devices behind each IP address (65535 available ports)
So that (2^128)*65535 that is quite a large number
What is the maximum number of Computers that can be connected to Internet?bmw
It really doesn't matter how many computers are connected at once, just remember that the more computer that are using the internet, the slower signal, especially for wireless....
as long as you have a good connection using dsl/cable and have the routers to do it, the number is unlimited
If a business can connect all of its' computers to the internet, who knows what the max is o.o I think that they will have to add more power to the main source. :/
I've got a friend who had 4 Computers going at his house, but I think you could probably have more than that.
This is why dynamic IP addresses are used. The addresses can be re-issued when people disconnect. Also the new IPV6 protocol can handle what is currently virtually unlimited numbers. This will be brought into operation as soon as the IPV4 addresses run short.
