I'm contemplating in switching careers from computers or technology to more human like field, occupational therapy. I already have a bachelor in CMIS, 2001. Does anyone have any added insights if I have to start over again for my 2nd Bachelor in OT or can I continue my education in my masters degree for OT. I鈥檓 not very familiar in the medical field. Any information will be great!

I dont know the process of obtaining OT degree. But I think it is a great choice due to the high demand for OT. I work with ECI and we need them badly.
If I am not mistaken, OTs are now required to have a Master's degree or higher. The school I went to was a three year program - we had several people who had bachelor's in business, journalism, or other non-medical field areas. As long as you have whatever pre-reqs your school requires, then you can start the program, assuming of course you are accepted. If you go to www.aota.org and click "students" it will give you a list of schools offering OT.
I would recommend trying to observing or volunteering with an OT in a couple different settings before making your decision. Several people I went to school with actually decided that OT was not what they wanted to do upon graduation - that was over $55,000 in tuition and books not put to use!
Good luck with your decision.
believe it or not, you can actually watch OT being done at youtube. It may give you a basic idea.
