What are your thoughts about the computers in cars?

For a school project I have to find the negatives about the computers in cars. I want your opinion but with reasons. It doesn't have to be all negatives there can be positives. My partner has to find those so you can say positives. Reasons will help me a lot I just need opinions. Please respond soon because it is due in a few weeks. Thanks!

car computers tend to break down often and are EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE to repair or replace... to me that is about the ONLY negative aspect of the computers in the cars... Positives are.... you can go to a repair shop, they just "plug the computer" into their diagnostic tool and voila, a diagnosis as to what is wrong with your car in MINUTES... saving countless hours of tearing engines apart LOOKING for a problem... just recently this happened to my son's car... a 2003 SAAB turbo... his engine light went on and of COURSE he knew nothing about it so... off we went to our car mechanic who plugged in the computer and in seconds, codes came spewing out telling the mechanic what was wrong with the car.... the problem was repaired and the car runs PERFECTLY now... the computer almost eliminates mistakes on repairs... there is no ASSUMPTIONS on the mechanic's part... with labor costs up to over $50 per HOUR, it's good to know that these wonderous little computers can diagnose the problem in seconds...
